Christopher Catesby Harington, aka Kit Harington, is a British actor and producer, born December 26, 1986 in Acton (Greater London).
He is mainly known for his role as Jon Snow in the hit television series Game of Thrones
Kit Harington, of his real name Christopher1 was born in Acton (London). Her mother, Deborah Jane Catesby, is a playwright and her father, David Richard Harington, a businessman.
From 1992 to 1998, he studied at Southfield Primary School. At the age of 11, his family moved to Worcestershire (England) where he continued his studies at Chantry High School Martley (in) until 2003.
Between 2003 and 2005, he also studied drama and theatre at Worcester Sixth Form College .
At 18 he returned to London and a year later he studied at the Central School of Speech and Drama, graduating in 2008 In 2008, he performed his first role in War Horse (in) at the Olivier Theatre and then at the Royal National Theatre with the lead role of Albert Naracott for two years.
In 2010, he appeared in the play Posh at the Royal Court Theatre.
That same year, he won one of the leading roles, Jon Snow, in the HBO hit television series Game of Thrones, an adaptation of George R. R. Martin9’s The Iron Throne. Rapidly renewed in the face of the critical and commercial success of the series, it appeared in the other seven seasons broadcast. The triumph of the series brought the actor to the forefront of the media scene and his performance earned him several nominations and awards
He has been in a relationship since 2012 with actress Rose Leslie who plays Ygritte in the series Game of Thrones. They announced their engagement in the Times newspaper on September 27, 201725,26 and were married on June 23, 2018 in Aberdeen, Scotland. The shooting of Game of Thrones’ season 8 was momentarily interrupted to allow several cast members to go to the wedding.
