Godzilla 2: King of the Monsters.
Godzilla 2: King of the Monsters (Godzilla: King of the Monsters) is an American science fiction film co-written and directed by Michael Dougherty, whose release is scheduled for 31 May 2019. Thirty-third film directing Godzilla, it follows Godzilla (2014) and is the third of MonsterVerse, a fiction universe developed by Legendary Pictures. Despite the title, it will not be linked to the homonymous film of 1956, of which he just borrows the name
The crypto-zoological agency Monarch, including Dr. Emma Russell, is deploying many means to combat creatures of divine size, called Titans, which are slowly reappearing from the bowels of the earth. Godzilla will thus have to face the giant mothra butterfly, the super-fast Rodan pterosaur, as well as its worst enemy ever, the three-headed dragon King Ghidorah, which is the Alpha of the Titans. These ancient superspecies all want supremacy and endanger the survival of the humanity1. But which one of them is going to win over the others? An apocalyptic fight will then engage while Godzilla, assisted by humans, will have to assert his place as king of monsters
The release of Godzilla: King of the Monsters is scheduled for March 22, 2019 (postponed for May/June to avoid box office competition with Avengers: Endgame ) in 2D, 3D, as well as some IMAX rooms by Warner Bros. The Toho takes care of the Japanese distribution. 6 The initial release was scheduled for 8 June 20187. The second trailer, announced on December 10, 2018, seems to unveil two other “titans”, an Insectoid/arachnoid waking up in an oil site in the middle of the desert, the second seems to be a moving mountain, the fans began to speculate on the identity of the two monsters and agree on Anguirus and Kumonga. The director confirmed during an interview that the two monsters in question have nothing to do with the Toho, and in fact, are kaiju created for the occasion, which have no idea whether they will play an important role in the film. Another detail shown by trailers and TV spots indicates that Rodan, the giant pterodactyl, is against every other monster and that Godzilla and Mothra, the giant butterfly, will not fight each other, since they are on the same side, Mothra being known as a female kaiju protector of humanity in previous films, in which she and Godzilla and other kaiju, of which Rodan as normal, team up to fight King Ghidorah, which is a basic creature of extraterrestrial and non-terrestrial origin.
